Old truck, old church, old park, old canal, modern camera posting almost live on a blog. Why do we hunt old things and odd sights like as many treasures? Maybe they remind us that not everything is out of control. Beauty finds its way through, and so does our imagination.

I have just been notified by my hosting provider that my FTP password had been compromised. Some moron hacker injected most of my HTML files with malicious code, which was subsequently cleaned up by my provider, leaving all HTML files truncated and broken. If any of you tried to access Vincent Mounier Photography dot com during that time and got empty pages or some garbage, I apologize. It would seem the web is a very insecure place these days. Measures are being taken and policies implemented for this not to happen again. The blog was not affected, as the attack targeted HTML files and the blog is run by PHP. UPDATE: The first wave of this attack seems to have been fended off. New security measures are being implemented. My hosting provider has been helpful, and so have the fine folks over at CloudFlare, a new service I have been experimenting with for some time now...

A photographer, just like a kid, finds endless sources of amusement in everyday scenes and events. Little things take the front stage. A leaking water hydrant can provide hours of fun because basically, like kids, photographers seem more curious and look at the world with candid eyes. Well I think I do, any way. I kept jumping back in fear of getting splashed each time a car would drive by even though the water pressure guaranteed my safety. One car stopped before the spray, the driver obviously hesitating, then stepped on the gas and rushed through it. I could swear he was holding his breath. Funny. Messy shots; G10, handheld, low light and angle, high ISO.

Model A truck in Brooklyn? Cool. Love the water pictures, too; I keep forgetting that Brooklyn is on an island.
But, my Google Reader didn’t pick you up again. . .
Great photos, like the colors and the work done.
Hi Mário,
Thank you for the kind words. I like your lenses. You made the right choice, going for good glass first. That will be my next move. When budget allows…
I really love the old feel those photographs have, as if you had taken them in a small provincial town, Thank you
Yeah, not the first time I hear that about Google and RSS, I guess it takes a while for the feed to be updated…
But Brooklyn is a small provincial town, isn’t it?
