The Adirondack train has done its magic once more and taken me from New York’s Penn Station to Montreal in some eleven hours and exactly sixty-two dollars. Can’t beat that deal. And it’s such a sweet ride!

Some of you might already have guessed (!) that I am addicted to travels and thus to any vehicle that will allow me to go from A to B, from here to there and back. I have of course had intimate and loving relationships with both boats and planes. But I am as happy on an Amtrak train where I can stretch my legs and walk to a wide cafe car table to spread my lunch, books, laptop, coffee and even beer.

Quebec is already blanketed by immaculate snow and perfectly chilly. I’ve had a very interesting lunch at the Canadian Space Agency but that will be for a next post. The cats are playful, three felines and a young human keeping me busy. I’ve discovered myself a vice: eating chocolate with loved ones…
