It’s so easy to think of Manhattan as the typical, postcard-favorite urban urchin we all know, to picture the many southern bridges, the proximity of Lady Liberty, the old buildings of nearby Brooklyn, buzzing water traffic and an even greater automobile mess.

For a change, here is a 360° panoramic view taken at the very northern tip of Manhattan, in Inwood Park.Towering above us is the double-level Henry Hudson Bridge, stepping over to the Bronx. To the west (or below the bridge), the Hudson River and further across, New Jersey’s Palisades. At our feet, Spuyten Devil Creek, a channel leading to the Harlem River to the east (or right). Inwood park is hidden behind us and the hill.
