It had been a while since I last visited the very cool world of Wordle and I was thrilled to find an option that I did not remember from before: the applet now analyzes not only your own submitted text but also an entire web page as per the given URL. So I ran Coriolistic Anachronisms through it as a test and as always, I like the looks of it so much I feel compelled to show it.
Here, hence, is Wordle’s rendition of this very blog’s main page, based on pure word frequency and adjusted for my taste of colors and orientation. I like to think that this is the view a crawling bot gets when visiting. It’s quite interesting to be shown so simply the trends behind my own train of thought, the vocabulary I tend to use most (or should I say too often), the major keywords and the re-emerging topics.
I intend to run and post this test once a month, since it will change with each new entry added to the page. It’s art, if nothing else.
And here is my favourite blog:

« Funny...Site and transit is big in your life...Time and West in mine. Because you’re there, and that’s what it takes.

« Well, keep in mind that the « transit » was caused by the 2 posts about the shuttle’s transit. But soon my own transiting will be over...
Date of comment: 2009-05-22 01:38 •Now as far as the cursor loss goes, it’s sadly impossible to change the carat cursor color... So I’ve tweaked the background of the box in which your cursor is placed, how’s that for a fix? I’m hoping you actually see it but I’m stuck with IE8 (on which it works) and can’t test on prior IE versions. I believe you’re running IE7, so I’ll be curious to see if it works for you too.
And anybody out there with IE6, you should upgrade! I’m pretty sure this won’t work in the IE6 dinosaur browser... »
« Bloody hell, well after further testing, I managed to put IE8 in compatibility mode to duplicate IE7 and now have partial success with my fix. IE7 does recognize the CSS :hover pseudo-class but not the :focus one that I was using initially.
Date of comment: 2009-05-22 02:14 •So I now have both :hover and :focus on and in IE7, the background will change color only if the mouse remains over the input box. That’s the best I can do in IE without changing the entire template, and as I have blogged about before, I am really not inclined to change my design to accommodate bad browsers. I’d much rather convince IE users to switch to a real browser, one that is standard-compliant, safe and efficient... »
« Cool. You are so clever, gush

Date of comment: 2009-05-22 16:32 •I wonder what Estorbo’s Wordle would look like? Food, probably! »
« Marie: you’re flattering me. It works.

Oh, and Estorbo’s blog charting has been done. Reveals that three of the most important things in his life are the Wooman, Pelleds and ... sheet.
