To those of you who might have attempted to visit the blog in the last three or four hours, I apologize. At best, you will have received a “Web Page Unavailable” notice, at worse you will have ended up visiting some Southern Christian site that sure had nothing to do with me!
Something happened, I still don’t know if it was a security breach, a technical glitch or the beginning of the end of the world, but my IP got switched from dedicated to shared, my DNS got messed up, the site went down and eventually started loading somebody else’s page! With as many variables as Cloudflare, OpenDNS and my hosting provider, and everyone pointing the finger at the others, it was quite hard to solve.
I have reactivated my dedicated IP and even though DNS propagation is said to take up to 72 hours, it would seem the site is already back for most people. Should you experience strange results in the next three days, it will be for that reason, and I again apologize. After that, things should be back to normal and I will look into a proactive solution, if you catch my drift…
