More Cape Dwarf Chameleons
(This is an archived post; click on blog header for current content)

Marie and I have now found a minimum of 10 individuals, 4 of which are much smaller and probably younglings... They all live in a 20 to 30 meter radius of each other, and we still have to find a single chameleon outside of that area. The reason is still unknown. We’ve decided to be discreet about their location to protect their privacy; Cape Dwarf Chameleons are, after all, endangered.

Anybody with valuable information about the species and an iron-clad reference letter can apply here for conditional Constantia location disclosure. ;-)

« OMG! They’re both scary and fascinating...
You can almost be hypnotized by their colours.
All in all, your new companions are rare and precious, aren’t they? »

« These chameleons are amazing! I love the one with the turquoise and the color just seems to run straight through its eye too! What an ability...to disguise yourself like this. Too bad we can’t ALL do that! »

« Emma: well, when you see them live, full-size, all 15 cm of it, they’re not that scary... ;-)

Teri: yeah, I wouldn’t mind being able to disappear when riding the NYC subway... »

    « Hello Michael,

    Cage? Feeding? Buy?

I sure hope this is a joke... If so, you got me. If not, thanks for reading. Please read again. I’d rather protect the chameleons I’ve found than sell them to be caged, which to me doesn’t qualify as « good intentions ». Sorry.

As for privacy, I’m afraid comments posted here are... rather public. Follow up comments welcome. »
